While we were in New York, we managed a trip to the Bronx Zoo. Having been spoiled by numerous trips to the San Diego Zoo, I was not expecting to be impressed. But in fact, I was – especially with the efforts to educate the public.
They seemed to have put some thought and effort into… pedagogic strategies. It wasn’t just about parading out the exotic fauna.
It was a fairly miserable day – hot and humid, and then it poured a couple of times. We got soaked.

Munchkin managed to get up and personal with our fellow hominid, and was duly impressed.
